Rides
Ride Calendar

Unless otherwise stated, Yarra Ranges rides are usually on a Sunday and leave at 9:30am from the service road out side the park on the left heading north in Yarra Glen, a scenic 10 minute ride north from the Melbourne suburb of Lilydale. Depending on the destination and season, we may leave at other times or from other places and we often have weekend rides. Check this page often and please have a full fuel tank on departure.
RIDE ORGANIZERS WANTED !!
Ride organizers are wanted (preferably alive) for regular Sunday rides for the Yarra Ranges Branch. Despite the fact that we have close to 190 listed members of the Yarra Ranges Branch, we have very few willing to take up the challenge of leading a ride.If you are capable of jumping on your bike and ride to the supermarket you are capable of organizing a ride. There are different types of rides, from short casual day rides through to weekend (or longer) rides, to anywhere you want to go. As a guide to organising a ride and ideas of different sorts of rides please click here to read further .

Since their death it has been kept as a working farm, with everything preserved from that era. It is also a nature reserve with kangaroos, swamp wallabies, brolgas, wedgetailed eagles, and the endangered Eastern Barred Bandicoot. Freeway ride home after Ballarat.
More information to come once we have expressions of interest. Contact Rex Roberts 0418 392 649.

New Years Eve Ride to Daylesford.
Day 1:
Leave from Shell Servo Lilydale at 10.00am, riding up through some very scenic areas. Lunch will be at Lancefield, and we will arrive at Daylesford at approx 3.00p.m. Accomodation should be booked by yourself at the Central Springs Inn (www.centralspringsinn.com.au) or phone Joy on 5348 3134.
Please advise that you are with the Ulysses, and ask for a 'Heritage' room---they have a lot more character, and are the same price as the normal motel. Continental breakfast is included, with a cooked one for only $5.00 extra. They have a lovely treed outdoor area for pre-dinner drinks, and ample safe parking for the bikes. Dinner that night will be at one of the pubs...or maybe even some fish & chips!

Day2: After a leisurely breakfast, we will have a ride through some of the Goldfield areas, arriving back early afaternoon...leaving time for some more exploration of Daylesford, or a nanna nap. "Bowls Bistro", which is only a 50m walk home, has again been booked for dinner..price will be approx $60.00ph, this includes a gourmet three course dinner, cheese platter, champagne at midnight and a fantastic DJ!

Day 3: Basically a free day, but there are plenty of things to do--Lavendula, Cricket Willow, Glenlyon Sports Day, Hepburn Spa etc, or otherwise you can just relax, eat and drink. Dinner that night will be barbeque at the motel. (Cost to be advised once we know numbers)

Day 4: Ride home, saying goodbyes at Gisborne, where people make their own way home--either by the freeway or though the ranges.

This is basically a very relaxed few days, where people can do as much or as little as they want...a nice way to chill out after Christmas!

Please make your own booking at the Central Springs (53483134 Joy), but suggest you do so as soon as possible!

Please let me know if you are planning to come so that we can confirm numbers and arrange final costings.
